Credentials

Registered dietitians are the only nutrition experts regulated by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and the only experts licensed in the state to provide professional nutrition advice.

Betsy Hjelmgren has been a registered dietitian, licensed in the state of Illinois, since 1999. CSP is short for Certified Specialist in Pediatric nutrition. To achieve this credential, a dietitian must work more than 2,000 hours in the field of pediatric nutrition and pass a national board exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. In 2005, Betsy Hjelmgren received her CSP credential. (Betsy has logged well over 17,000 hours in pediatric nutrition).
